A shopping mall in St. Thomas, Ont., was evacuated Saturday morning amid fears of a partial roof collapse.
The Elgin Mall was closed as a precaution after reports that a portion of the roof was sagging, police said. The sagging section of roof surrounded a skylight over the mall's food court.
St. Thomas Police stopped short of labelling the incident a collapse.
About 90 per cent of the mall's stores have since re-opened; two stores remain closed pending further inspection.
A grocery store attached to the mall was permitted to remain open.
No one was injured, police said.
Elgin Mall is a single-storey shopping mall in St. Thomas, a city of about 38,000 in Southwestern Ontario.
The mall's manager says the collapse was caused by water damage from a heavy storm Friday evening.
