  • The funeral for former Toronto police chief William McCormack will be held today at St.Paul’s Basilica near Parliament and Queen Streets, beginning at 11:00AM.
  • The Ontario legislature resumes today with a throne speech expected to address soaring electricity rates, after Premier Kathleen Wynne prorogued the legislature last week.

WEATHER WATCH:

Cooler temperatures on tap this morning, but a warm and mainly sunny day ahead. A high of 25 degrees is expected, feeling like 28 degrees with the humidity.

TRAFFIC WOES:

  • One eastbound lane will be occupied on the Gardiner Expressway from Highway 427 to Jameson Avenue between 10:00AM and 2:00PM due to grass cutting maintenance.
  • One lane will be occupied on Danforth Avenue at Pape Avenue from 7:00AM to 5:00PM due to construction.

AROUND TOWN:

  • The Toronto Blue Jays take on the Tampa Bay Rays at the Rogers Centre tonight, beginning at 7:07PM.
  • The Canadian Film Festival TIFF Party takes place at The Drake tonight, beginning at 9:30PM.
