TORONTO - Nolan Reimold hit a tie-breaking two-run homer in the ninth inning to give the Baltimore Orioles a 6-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday at Rogers Centre.

Reimold blasted a 1-0 pitch from Jays reliever Francisco Cordero (0-1) to deep left field, making a winner of reliever Luis Ayala (1-0).

Chris Davis and Wilson Betemit also homered for Baltimore (5-3) and Jim Johnson worked the ninth inning for his fourth save. Kelly Johnson hit a solo homer for Toronto (4-4).

Jays starter Henderson Alvarez settled down after a shaky start to pitch seven effective innings, allowing three earned runs and six hits.

The Orioles loaded the bases with one out in the opening frame. Alvarez got Matt Wieters to ground to short but Adam Jones prevented a double play with a hard slide, allowing J.J. Hardy to score the game's first run.

Johnson answered in the bottom half of the inning with a solo homer.

The Blue Jays added another run in the second inning. Eric Thames led off with a double, moved to third on a Brett Lawrie single and scored on a single to left field by Colby Rasmus.

After J.P. Arencibia reached on a fielder's choice and Yunel Escobar walked to load the bases, Johnson swung at a 3-0 pitch before striking out. Jose Bautista followed but only got to an 0-2 count before Lawrie was thrown out trying to steal home.

The Orioles regained the lead in the fourth inning on a two-run homer by Davis.

Toronto made it a 4-3 game in the sixth inning with a pair of unearned runs. Adam Lind started the rally with a one-out double and moved to third when Betemit couldn't handle a sharp grounder by Edwin Encarnacion.

Thames brought Lind across with a sacrifice fly to deep centre field. Encarnacion tagged from first base and scored on a Colby Rasmus single.

Casey Janssen recorded two quick outs in the eighth inning before giving up a game-tying solo homer to Betemit. Orioles starter Jason Hammel gave up two earned runs and six hits over five innings.

Announced attendance was 28,355 and the game took two hours 57 minutes to play.
