Toronto guard Jerryd Bayless is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a partially torn left oblique muscle, the Raptors reported Tuesday.

Bayless left Toronto's game versus Orlando Monday at the 5:25 mark of the second quarter and did not return. He underwent tests Tuesday at Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital.

Bayless, in his second season with Toronto, has averaged 11.4 points, 3.8 assists and 22.7 minutes per game.

He started five games from March 11-17, averaging 21.8 points and 7.6 assists, shooting .543 per cent from the field and .571 per cent from three-point range.

Raptors sign Uzoh to 10-day contract

The Toronto Raptors signed guard Ben Uzoh to a 10-day contract Tuesday.

The six-foot-three 205-pounds University of Tulsa product joins the Raptors from the NBA D-League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers where he averaged 14.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 20 games.

This is Uzoh's second stint in the NBA this season after signing to a 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Feb. 10.

The 24-year-old spent last season with New Jersey after signing with the club as a free agent. Uzoh saw action in 42 games with the Nets, averaging 3.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

Toronto guard Jerryd Bayless left Monday's loss to Orlando in the first half and did not return after re-aggravating a left hip pointer injury that kept him out of the previous two games.

The Raptors (16-34) return to action Wednesday night at home to the Denver Nuggets.
