Durham police have arrested a Pickering man they say produced and sold hashish from a shed behind his house.

Police seized drugs worth an estimated $2.46 million Thursday in a raid on the Bayly St. home, according to a release issued Friday.

The region's drug enforcement unit found 46 oxycontin tablets, 1.52 kg of hash, a shotgun and ammunition as well as cell phones and scales inside the house.

A search on the shed revealed it was used for the production, processing and packaging of hashish, police said. Officers confiscated four hashish presses, three food processors, more than 118 kilograms of hash and 11,520 of marijuana shake packaged for sale.

George Kononow, 35, faces a number of drug- and weapons-related charges, including trafficking a controlled substance.
