Feds tabling new bill to ban conversion therapy on Monday

On Monday, the federal government will be tabling an enhanced version of their bill to largely ban conversion therapy practices in Canada, moving forward with a stronger version of previously-halted legislation. The version of the bill coming next week is expected to include more teeth and potentially a wider reach when it comes to cracking down on the harmful practice.

Feds aim to criminalize threats towards health-care workers with new bill

The federal government introduced a new bill Friday that, if passed, would impose new criminal sanctions for people who threaten health-care workers, impede access to medical facilities, or intimidate people accessing health services. The legislation also would update federal labour laws to provide 10 days of paid medical leave.
