The Queen Elizabeth Highway has reopened at Cawthra Road in Mississauga on Saturday afternoon after it was completely closed for a fatal crash investigation.

The single-vehicle collision happened shortly after 12 noon and closed the westbound lanes until 3 p.m.

OPP Sgt. Dave Woodford told CTV Toronto that a medical condition led to the crash.

On Friday, the QEW was closed in the same area for most of the evening after a serious multi-vehicle crash sent a teenage boy to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

At least three people were injured in the collision when a car driven by the boy crashed through a wall and landed in the busy highway.

The eastbound lanes of the highway from Cawthra Road to Dixie Road reopened shortly before 7 p.m.
