Toronto police want to hear from people who witnessed a motorcycle crash that killed a 27-year-old man Wednesday night.

Police said the man was westbound on Havendale Road, near Midland Avenue, at about 9:10 p.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle, went off the road, and struck a fence and tree.

The man died at the scene.

In an interview at the scene, police Sgt. Edmund Wong told CP24 that the preliminary investigation suggests speed was a factor.

Anyone with information about the single-vehicle crash is asked to call investigators at 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
