Police say they have seized more than $1-million worth of counterfeit goods and arrested four people after a raid at Dr. Flea's Flea Market, a large market on Finch Avenue near Albion Road.
Police said they acted on warrants to search Dr. Flea's Flea Market on Friday and Sunday.
They seized counterfeit clothing, toys, accessories and more than 5,000 DVDs from 16 different booths.
One of the DVDs seized, "The Avengers," doesn't even open in theatres until Friday.
Some of the other items seized included fake Louis Vuitton, Coach and Michael Kors handbags, Disney children's toys and Dolce and Gabbana clothing.
Police said the children's toys were of particular concern, since counterfeit toys are not held up to safety standards and could pose a hazard to children.
"The things that concern me, specifically, are the toys. There are no regulations controlling these toys," said Det. Brian Kay.
The investigation involved booths targeted by police over three months.
In total, police charged four people with 11 charges during their raid and they expect to lay 12 more charges in the days to come.
Police also said one of the men charged was previously charged in February for selling fake goods. Police allege he was selling more counterfeit DVDs while out on bail.
