Police are looking for two armed men who stormed into a basement apartment in Pickering Wednesday night, assaulting the resident and stealing cash and a cell phone.

The men entered the apartment near Altona Road and Finch Avenue at about 10:30 p.m., Durham Regional Police said.

One man was armed with a gun, the other with a baseball bat.

The men ransacked the apartment and the resident inside the house suffered minor cuts to the head, police said.

The first suspect is described as a white male in his 40s, approximately 5'10 with a thin build. He has a tanned complexion, a goatee and was wearing dark clothing.

The second suspect is described as a white male in his 20s wearing a dark-coloured coat.
