Toronto police are looking for two men in their 20s after a pair of overnight shootings left one dead and four others injured in the city's north end.
Officers were called to a reported shooting outside Col. Mustard's pub near Don Mills Road and Finch Avenue at about 3 a.m. and found three victims with gunshot wounds.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were sent to hospital.
"It appears that there was maybe two groups that took sides," said Det. Sgt. Graham Gibson. "I don't know what the argument was about but people took exception to something that happened inside and began to argue back and forth. There might have been some pushing and shoving; there was some talk about that.
"When the suspects left, at least one of them fired a firearm."
Staff Sgt. Jim Gotell, of 33 Division, said two suspects are being sought in connection with the shooting.
The pair are both described as having a "brown complexion," he said. One of the men is heavily built, weighing an estimated 300 pounds and wearing a grey hoodie and white T-shirt, while the other was described as thin with dark clothing and a blue baseball cap.
Gotell said homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and witnesses were being interviewed.
"We're canvassing the neighbourhood and interviewing anyone who might have seen what happened," he said.
Gibson said there was likely 80 to 100 people inside the bar when the argument broke out.
"Once the shooting occurred, a lot of them left. So we're asking them to come back," he said.
The fatal shooting followed another report of gunplay near Lawrence Avenue West and Jane Street, an hour earlier.
When police arrived at the scene of that shooting, investigators could not find any victims, but two men later showed up at a nearby hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.
One victim was hit in the neck, the other in the chest.
