Police in Toronto's northwest end are on the hunt for two men suspected of robbing a bank using three-foot long swords as weapons.

The robbery happened just after 9 a.m. on Kipling Avenue near Steeles Avenue. One witness who did not want to be identified told CTV Toronto there were some tense moments inside the TD Canada Trust.

"They told everybody to get down on their knees and they started screaming, 'Give me the money, give me the money'," he said. "One guy pulled out a sword, pointed it at the cashier and told her to give him the money. He jumped the counter took the bag and they ran off."

Nobody was injured during the heist, police say.

A dye pack that was put into the bag by the teller exploded shortly after the suspects left the bank. One of the suspects was covered with red dye.

Authorities have recovered the bag of money as well as two swords

Toronto's K-9 unit and York Regional Police are also helping out with the search for the suspects.
