Toronto police are looking for a man posing as an undercover police officer to intimidate sex trade workers into performing sexual acts for him in the city’s west end.

According to a news release issued Wednesday, police were called to the Dundas Street West and Keele Street area last Nov. 18 for a sexual assault.

They say a man picked up a female sex trade worker in a car. He claimed to be an undercover police officer and demanded sex from the woman or else he would take her to jail.

The woman complied with the demands, police said.

Last Friday, police got an unknown trouble call in the area of Weston Road and McCormack Street.

Police say a man picked up a female sex trade worker in the Dundas Street and Gilmour Avenue area, which is about 800 metres west of Keele Street, and drove her to the Weston Road area.

Keele Street turns into Weston Road at St. Clair Avenue West. McCormack Street is a number of blocks north of St. Clair.

The suspect claimed he was an undercover police officer and demanded sex.

However, the woman escaped the car and managed to call police.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • white
  • 5'9"
  • medium build
  • brown eyes
  • short, dark hair

He was reportedly driving a newer-model, black, four-door, import compact car.
