There are mall rats, and then there are mall lizards.

Police received a call about the latter loitering at Albion Mall in Etobicoke on Monday.

The green lizard, which experts have identified as an iguana, was found in between a set of doors near the mall’s entrance.

Attending officers managed to trap the lizard and transported it to Reptilia, a reptile zoo in Vaughan.

Zoo Facility Manager Lee Parker said the iguana arrived in relatively good condition, despite being a bit cold. He added the lizard is starting to become more active.
