A wild car chase in North York ended in the arrest of a 20-year-old man who police say eluded officers in three previous chases.

York Police stopped the suspect on Monday afternoon after a chase that began in the Graydon Hall Drive and Don Mills Road area.

Jermaine Davis faces numerous charges in connection with four chases, including assault with a weapon, fleeing police, engaging in a pursuit and breaching his probation.

An officer was dragged in one incident, which took place in a Vaughan motel parking lot at about 3:30 a.m. on March 12.

Police said the suspect led officers to his car saying he needed to get his identification inside.

Once in the driver's seat, the man started the ignition and put the car in reverse. One of the officers standing between the man and the open driver door ended up being dragged for a short distance.

Police said the second officer, who was standing behind the car, was almost run down.

York police chased the vehicle into Toronto before they were forced to stop because of the dangerous way the man was driving.

Police said the two prior car chases were also dangerous. They occurred in the past few weeks.
