Toronto police have arrested a suspect in connection to the sexual assault of a young girl in a Scarborough park earlier this week.

Police said that the six-year-old girl was playing in Glamorgan Park, near Kennedy Road south of Highway 401, Monday evening when she was approached by a man.

Police allege the man assaulted her before fleeing the park.

An image of the man was released on Tuesday as investigators pressed the public for help finding the suspect.

Police said Wednesday that a suspect had been arrested and was in custody.
