TORONTO -- Toronto police have laid another attempted murder charge against a man wanted in a multiple hit-and-run incident.

Police say the new charge stems from an encounter with a suspect early Wednesday, when they allege a male driver rammed a car into two police cruisers.

They say it happened as officers tried to arrest the suspect in connection with a number of charges stemming from a hit-and-run collision Friday.

Steven Brunswick, 47, of no fixed address, is accused of driving a stolen vehicle onto a sidewalk that afternoon, hitting three people.

It's alleged he also tried to hit a police officer who was pursuing him.

Brunswick is charged with attempted murder, theft of a vehicle, dangerous driving and failing to remain in connection with Friday's incident, and police say anyone who sees him should call 911.
