A 39-year-old Toronto man has been charged with fraud for allegedly securing bank loans under false names and renting out homes with forged credentials.

Police say the man was arrested on Friday and charged with 14 offences related to fraudulent activity.

Authorities allege that the suspect used forged documents and false statements to rent homes and apartments.

The suspect is also accused of impersonating others to secure new credit cards and loans. Police say the suspect used false income statements, drivers' licenses and identity cards to advance his scheme.

He allegedly used the money for vacations, expensive clothes and meals.

Detectives seized a 2006 Range Rover and some pieces of furniture during their investigation.

Andrew Wilson, who also goes by the names of Drew Wilson and Ken Jackson, has been charged with:

  • vagrancy,
  • two counts of laundering the proceeds of crime,
  • two counts of fraudulently obtaining food and lodging,
  • public mischief,
  • impersonation with intent,
  • two counts of obtaining credit under false pretences,
  • possession of property obtained by crime,
  • theft of telecommunications,
  • failing to comply with an undertaking given to OIC,
  • failing to comply recognizance,
  • possession of property obtained by crime.

Police say they suspect there are more victims of fraud. They are asking anyone with information to call investigators at 4160808-1348.
