Toronto police have issued a murder warrant in connection to the Canada Day stabbing death of a 39-year-old man.

A second-degree murder warrant has been issued Anthony Campbell, 27, of Toronto in the stabbing death of Shawn Charles.

Police say Campbell should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police say Charles died after being stabbed following an argument at a Canada Day basketball tournament in northeast Toronto Friday.

The incident took place at Biggin Court near Eglinton Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue.

Charles was taken to hospital with several stab wounds and later died. He was Toronto's 25th homicide victim of the year.

Police are looking to speak with anyone who was in the area of the event.
