Police say a suspect is in custody following a triple homicide in Toronto’s west end.

Insp. Tim Crone said police received a 911 call shortly before 7 p.m. on Monday.

Crone said a family member discovered the bodies and notified police.

When police arrived to the scene at a townhouse on Old Burnhamthorpe Road, three people were confirmed dead.

Crone said police are working to identify the victims. The identity of the suspect in custody has yet to be released.

Crone said the suspect was found “in the area.”

“He was armed,” Crone told reporters at the scene Monday evening. “We negotiated with the suspect over a short period of time and he subsequently surrendered.”

Police also did not say if the deceased were related.
