Toronto police are investigating the city's latest homicide after an elderly man suffered a fatal gunshot wound in an underground parking garage.

Officers were called to the parking lot beneath an building at 245 Eglinton Ave. E., near Mount Pleasant Road, just after 2 p.m. on Friday.

A passerby found the victim lying on the ground bleeding, and called 911. He has been identified as 66-year-old Glen Davis, of Toronto.

Paramedics rushed Davis to Sunnybrook Hospital but he was pronounced dead shortly after. Police said he suffered gunshot wounds to the torso.

The building reportedly has surveillance cameras, but it is not known if the garage has the recording devices.

Investigators are asking for the public's help identifying a person of interest. A man was seen leaving the underground parking lot shortly after the incident. He is described as:

  • White;
  • Between 25 and 30 years old; and
  • About 5-foot-8;

He was wearing a black baseball cap, a blue sweater, a waist-length dark jacket with a hood, dark pants, and white running shoes. He was also wearing a dark-coloured backpack.
