Toronto police are hunting for two suspects who they say fled the scene of a collision on the Gardiner Expressway Wednesday.

Police say the incident began when one man fled on foot from a Honda Civic during a police stop on the Gardiner Expressway at Lower Jarvis Street at about 10 a.m.

It is believed the driver and a passenger remaining in the Civic then fled the scene in the car, ramming another car off the road and then crashing into another vehicle.

Police say the suspect who fled on foot was arrested and a gun that had fallen to the ground was collected as evidence.

The Civic was found abandoned a short time later in a parking lot at Leslie Street and Lakeshore Boulevard. Police continue to search for the two suspects.

Emergency crews said the female driver of the third vehicle involved in the crash suffered minor neck injuries.
