Toronto Police have confirmed that the body found in the rubble of a burned-out Bathurst Street building is that of resident Marie Speck -- someone credited with warning her neighbours about the fire.

"Marie Speck was located on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at 3:30 p.m., at 1079 Bathurst St. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity was confirmed on Thursday, November 5, 2009," police said Thursday in a news release.

An autopsy is to be conducted Thursday.

Police and fire responded to a call at 5:22 a.m. on Saturday.

All other residents in the building were accounted for, but Speck was missing. Police put out a news release on Monday asking for help in locating her.

Demolition began Monday night. On Tuesday afternoon, her body was located in the rubble.
