Toronto police are requesting the public's assistance in finding suspects connected to an overnight shooting in North York.

Officials say a man was walking through Skymark Park, near Finch Avenue East and Don Mills Road at about 4:30 a.m. on Monday morning. He was approached by two men who demanded his jewelry, according to police.

Authorities say the victim was shot in the leg but managed to escape. A passing motorist drove him to a hospital and police hope the driver will come forward with information.

Police describe the suspects as:

  • black males
  • about 18-years-old
  • wearing jeans and hoodie sweaters
  • wearing black bandana's on their faces
