Toronto police are searching for witnesses after a woman was handcuffed and dragged out of the restaurant where she worked in the north end of the city.

The woman, reportedly the manager of a Boston Pizza outlet near Highway 27 and Dixon Road, claims she was attacked in the early morning hours.

She called police at shortly after 3 a.m., saying a man had come into the restaurant, grabbed and handcuffed her, then dragged her outside and threw her to the ground.

She said she hit her head in the fall, but managed to struggle free, and the suspect ran off.

Forensics officers attended the scene to comb for evidence, but there is no word yet on whether police have a suspect.

The motive is still unclear, but police say they are treating the case as an attempted robbery.
