Peel Regional Police have issued an arrest warrant for a fifth suspect in the alleged kidnapping of a 58-year-old Mississauga man.

The victim, who has been identified as Kuldip Bhula, was at home Monday evening when he received a phone call that lured him outside onto a nearby street.

Not long after, Bhula was forced into a waiting car, his daughter Jasmine told CTV Toronto's Austin Delaney on Thursday.

The family then received phone calls asking for money in exchange for his safe return, according to Peel Police Const. Samantha Nulle.

No ransom was paid.

Bhula was taken to an undisclosed location in Mississauga before being found on Heritage Road in Brampton around 7 a.m. Thursday.

He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police arrested three people in connection with the alleged kidnapping. Interviews with those suspects led police to Bhula and to a fourth suspect.

Police have laid kidnapping charges against four men:

  • Guramrit Sidhu, 45, of Mississauga
  • Manpreet Padda, 25, of Brampton
  • Tarinder Saggi, 32, of Markham
  • Balbir Thind, 45, of Brampton
