Peel Police are investigating the weekend death of a teenaged Brampton girl as a homicide.

In a news release issued Monday, police say they were called to an address on Savita Road at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Inside the residence, they discovered the victim.

"Tiffany Gayle, a 15 year-old resident of Brampton, was found with signs of trauma to her body. As a result of the investigation to date, the incident has now been deemed a homicide," they said.

An autopsy was to be conducted Monday.

Homicide detectives are investigating the death. Police say no further information will be released at this time.
