Partial subway service resumed between Islington and Kipling stations Friday afternoon after emergency track repairs forced the closure of Kipling station earlier in the day.

The TTC said service at Kipling station will be limited to just one platform during rush hour.

As a result, every second or third train will turn back at Islington station. Passengers travelling to Kipling may be forced off at Islington and wait for the next train travelling westbound to Kipling, the TTC said.

Train travel between Islington and Kipling Stations will be slower than normal.

Kipling was closed to subway trains for hours Friday after a section of the rail was found to be slightly twisted, the TTC said.

Subway service to the station was halted when a train operator felt a bump over a switch Friday morning and called transit control to investigate.

The TTC said repairs will resume after midnight.
