HURON EAST, Ont. -- A Huron County provincial police officer has been given a ticket after allegedly crashing his cruiser into another car.

Police say the officer had just finished a traffic stop in Huron East last Wednesday when he tried to make a U-turn and struck another vehicle.

They say the other vehicle rolled and ended up on its side.

Neither driver was hurt but both vehicles were significantly damaged.

Police say OPP Const. Greg Blackwell, who has been on the force for a year, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with unsafely starting from a stopped position.
