LONDON, Ont. -- Provincial police are hoping a campaign similar to one that was successful elsewhere in Ontario will bring the killer of a young London, Ont., woman to justice.
Police say Suzanne Miller, a mother of three, was killed 44 years ago and have launched a poster and social media campaign to bring the cold case back to the public.
Miller was reported missing in September 1974 in London.
OPP say the 25-year-old's badly decomposed body was found about a month later in a wooded area near Thorndale, Ont., and that the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
Provincial and London police launched a new initiative on Thursday to try to find more information on the homicide case.
They say signage has been posted on buses and a tip line has been created in the hopes of finding her killer.
"We know this approach has generated more information for police on unsolved murders going back decades in other parts of Ontario," OPP Det. Ken Leppert said in a statement. "We are certain that people who lived in the London area when Suzanne Miller was murdered have information to help us resolve this case."
Provincial police have also created a video with interviews from Miller's sister and a retired investigator who worked on the case.
