CALEDON, Ont. -- Provincial police are appealing for anyone who knows how a 20-year-old woman's body was transported to Caledon nearly two years ago to come forward.

Kera Freeland's body was discovered in a ditch on Heart Lake Road in Caledon on March 17th, 2011, and investigators say her death is being treated as suspicious.

Freeland was last seen in Toronto on January 16th, 2011 and based on evidence obtained from the autopsy, it has been determined that she died around the time of her disappearance.

Investigators believe Freeland's remains had been at the location they were discovered since mid-January 2011 and that snow and cold temperatures helped to preserve valuable evidence.

Det. Chris Gilpin says DNA testing is being done to develop a profile on biological evidence believed to belong to someone involved with Freeland's death or in disposing of her body.

Investigators say they believe Freeland had died before her body was taken to the location where it was found.
