TORONTO -- Spring arrives on Wednesday, but winter isn't leaving without giving Ontario something to remember it by.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Cornwall area to the Quebec border, with 15 to 20 centimetres of snow expected through today.

Freezing rain warnings were also issued for southern Ontario from Huron-Perth south to the Norfolk area and east through Niagara, Hamilton Toronto and York and Durham Region.

The freezing rain was expected to switch to rain or drizzle as temperatures rose above freezing.

Environment Canada blames a low pressure system that was moving northeast from Indiana for bringing the messy mix of ice pellets, freezing rain and snow.

There is also a low pressure system tracking east from northern Minnesota which is forecast to spread up to 20 centimetres of snow across northern Ontario through today.

Hazardous driving conditions are likely as untreated roads may become slippery and snow covered, and visibility in areas of heavier snow may be low.
