LEWISPORTE, N.L. - An Ontario-based tour bus company involved in a fatal accident in northern Newfoundland is offering its condolences to the family of the victims.

RCMP say a father and daughter travelling in a small car were killed Wednesday when their vehicle veered into the path of the tour bus on the Trans-Canada Highway near Lewisporte.

Spokesman Sgt. Boyd Merrill says police will not be releasing the names of the victims at the request of the family.

A spokesman for Hanover Holiday Tours says the 23 people who were on the bus, including the driver and tour director, are shaken up by the incident.

Joe Rys says some of the passengers suffered minor injuries and one person was taken to hospital, but has since been released.

Rys says the bus was travelling from Gander to Corner Brook.
