HAMILTON - Attorney General Michael Bryant says homeowners have a right to know whether their house has ever been used as a marijuana grow-op.

Bryant says the province is looking at ways to single out grow-operations and possibly create a registry so homeowners have all the information before they buy.

But he says the issue crosses a number of government ministries so he doesn't know when the province might take action.

Houses or apartments that are used as grow-ops can have mould issues that can pose a health risk.

Conservative Tim Hudak says there are rules forcing homeowners to disclose the kind of insulation used in a house.

He says there should be similar rules for homes that have been used as grow-ops.
