One person rushed to hospital after North York shooting

One person has been rushed to hospital in critical condition following a shooting in North York.

It happened at around 4:15 a.m. in the area of Finch Avenue and Oakdale Road, just east of Highway 400, Toronto police said.

Toronto Paramedic Services said they transported one patient to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Multiple evidence markers could be seen on the ground at one scene of the shooting early Thursday.  Large bullet holes could also be seen in an SUV.

At least one suspect fled in a vehicle, police said. There is no description of them so far.

Road closures are in effect in the areas of Oakdale Road and Finch Avenue West, and the northbound Highway 400 off-ramp to Finch Avenue as police investigate.
