Toronto police are investigating after one person was injured following a shooting in the city’s east end.

Police were called to 390 Dawes Road near St. Clair Avenue and Victoria Park Road just before 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, after residents reported hearing the sound of gunshots in the area.

Officers say they found four shell casings at the scene.

Witnesses tell CP24 that a victim was seen fleeing the area in a vehicle.

Officials have confirmed that the victim, whose age and gender has not been verified, made their way to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they do not know the extent of the victim’s injuries and have not arrested any suspects in connection to the shooting.

Officials have secured the scene and are investigating the incident.
