Winter travel advisory in effect for Greater Sudbury

Published:

Snow, flurries and warmer temperatures coming Most of the northeast will see snow or flurries for the weekend with warming temperatures returning to the region. Rick Wyman has more.

Snow is expected to begin falling in Greater Sudbury on Friday afternoon or evening, with up to 10 cm forecast by Saturday morning.

As a result, Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for areas in and around the city, with heavy snow expected to reduce visibility.

"Snow is expected to taper to flurries Saturday morning," the advisory said.

"Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow."
