Another Timmins retirement home worker tests positive for COVID-19

Timmins — The Porcupine Health Unit has confirmed that an employee of a Timmins retirement home, St. Mary’s Gardens, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Dr. Lianne Catton, Medical Officer of Health for the Porcupine Health Unit, says the investigation is ongoing and that the individual is in self-isolation.

There is no known link to travel or any other confirmed cases.

Because of the positive test, the Porcupine Health Unit has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at St. Mary’s Gardens as per the Ministry of Health guidelines.
