A London, Ont. woman who has won more than $20 million in Saturday's Lotto 6/49 draw says the news is just beginning to sink in.

"I can't even fathom it yet. It's a lot for me to handle just being here,'" Bonnie Preece told reporters in Toronto Monday.

Before she came to the city, the cashier dropped off donuts and coffee for her No Frills store co-workers and plans to hold a party for them at some point.

Bonnie, surrounded by family, said she's still trying to decide what to do with the huge windfall. But he's told her boss Gary -- "the greatest boss" -- she would like some time off for a vacation.

"We just want to live a happy, quiet life," she said.

Sharing her good fortune with family and friends are high on the list, but she also plans to help people in need and those who have helped her. Her husband's birthday is coming up next month, and Preece joked she didn't know what to get him for his birthday.

The other winning ticket was sold in Edmonton. The winner or winners there haven't stepped forward yet.

The prize, while large, isn't a record. A single ticket won more than $54 million in October 2005.

Preece told a news conference she only plays Lotto 6/49 about three times per year. She doesn't have favourite numbers, so just got two Quick Picks on Friday with the two toonies she had.

Total numbers aren't out yet, but lottery officials say that ticket sales jumped about 40 per cent ahead of Saturday night's draw.

Originally, Preece said she only thought on Sunday morning that she had won a free ticket, but then double-checked after a coffee.

"I said, 'There's no way,'" she said.

Preece said she then phoned her "lovely sister" and asked her to tell her the winning numbers. It matched with her winning tickets. They then went to a lottery retailer to check once more.

She had been scheduled to work Sunday, but said the win overwhelmed her.
