The provincial government released a new official identification card on Monday that aims to give all residents equal access to services.

Non-driving residents, those who are visually impaired, seniors and teenagers over the age of 16 can use the card for everything from opening a bank account to travelling.

The government estimates there are 1.5 million Ontario residents who could use the card.

The card will cost $35 and will be valid for five years. It can be purchased at 21 Service Ontario locations throughout the province.
