TORONTO - Motorists seem divided over how much longer lower gas prices will last, and whether they'll change their driving habits as a result.

A weekly report from Calgary-based consulting firm M.J. Ervin and Associates says Canadian gas prices are at their lowest level in 22 months.

Chad Pegelo of Kitchener, Ont., says his family just sold their SUV and has no plans to get another one.

However, Hyacinthe Houghron of Toronto says lower prices could mean more cross-border shopping trips for her.

Auto research expert Anthony Faria of the University of Windsor in Ontario says availability of credit is more of a factor affecting vehicle sales than gas prices.
