A Toronto mother is searching for a camera that contained the first photos of her infant daughter after it was stolen from her car.

Sarah Chang said her iPod and two cameras were stolen from the family vehicle which sat in a parking garage, sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning. She said the cameras documented the first three months of her daughter Emma's life.

"We had videos of the first time she cooed at us," said Chang.

She said it was the first time that she had left items out in plain sight in her car and that she is heartbroken to have been robbed. The cameras contained photos of Emma during the baby's first vacation to England where she spent time with her grandparents.

"I want her to be able to look back and see that she had family in England," said Chang.

The Chang family has searched through online classified ads to see if the thieves are trying to sell the equipment online.

Sgt. Jerry Robertson said it's one strategy for victims to recover stolen items. If the victim believes they have found their item online, they can meet the seller to confirm their suspicions and call police immediately after.

Chang said her family doesn't care about the camera, but only wants to find the irreplaceable photos of Emma.

"I mean we have her and thank God that it was just stuff. But those are precious memories that we may never get back," she said.

Anyone with further information is asked to call Toronto police at 416-467-0493 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS or online at www.222tips.com.
