A Toronto man is facing several theft charges in connection with a series of stolen poppy donation boxes in the west end of the city.

Police responded to calls from two restaurants on Eglinton Road West and a store on Oakwood Avenue between Nov. 6 and Nov.8, 2012.

Video surveillance footage of the theft was caught by security cameras at two of the locations, helping police identify the suspect and make an arrest Thursday.

Christopher Ethier, 31, of Toronto is facing nine charges of theft and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.

Money stolen from the donation boxes has been returned to the Royal Canadian Legion.
