Austin Delaney retired in March 2023 and is no longer with the company.

Austin Delaney is a familiar face on CTV News Toronto,having been a part of the reporting team for Toronto’s most-watched local news since 1989. Today, Delaney works as a general assignment videojournalist, covering the top stories of the day.

Over the years, Delaney has reported on a variety of beats, from politics at Queen’s Park to the criminal courts. He describes his work as being in the middle of a storm when it’s hitting hardest. He reported on the 2010 G20 protests in Toronto, and exposed the black bloc as they changed disguises and began to wreak havoc.

Prior to joining CTV News Toronto, Delaney was heard reporting for a number of local radio stations, including CFTR, CKEY, and CHFI. Delaney was also the Queen’s Park reporter for CFNY-FM for two years and was a national newscaster for the Newsradio Network.

The winner of several broadcasting awards, including the Toronto, Peel, and York police awards for his reporting duties, he has also won two Edward R. Murrow Awards for best spot news.

Delaney speaks English, French, and a bit of Flemish, and is a graduate of the Humber College Radio Broadcasting program.
