Human remains have been found in cottage country for the third time in a week.

On Friday, Bracebridge OPP received information about remains located on the shoulder of Stoneleigh Road, between Bracebridge and Baysville, south of Muskoka Road 117.

An employee of a paving company made the gruesome discovery, police said.

The body parts are connected to two sets of remains, believed to be those of a single person, found on the morning of May 23 in Oro-Medonte and Lake of Bays Townships, police said.

Later that afternoon, Huntsville OPP responded to a second call from a person that human remains were spotted in the Lake of Bays Township area.

The second discovery is a two-hour drive north of the first crime scene.

While the body has yet to be identified, the victim is male, police said.

Despite the disturbing nature of the case, police are suggesting local residents should not be alarmed.

"The OPP wish to advise residents of both of these neighbourhoods that there are no concerns in regards to public safety," a police release said Monday.

Police are also asking that anyone with information about the case call officers at 1-888-310-1122.
