COLLINGWOOD, Ont. -
Four homes are now under a mandatory evacuation order after a mudslide moved further down the mountain at Craigleith, Ont., near Collingwood.
The mudslide started next to the Alpine Private Ski Club on Wednesday evening, and residents on Arrow Head Crescent called for help that night.
Provincial police say that during the night, the landslide restarted and moved about 25 metres down the hill.
Mud and debris are pressing up against the back of one of the homes, and there is still a lot of water pouring down.
Police say besides the four homes under the mandatory evacuation order, some other homeowners on Arrow Head Crescent have moved out as a precaution.
Backhoe equipment is on scene trying to divert the flowing water away from the homes.
So far, it doesn't appear there is significant damage to the homes in the path of the landslide, but officials remain on the scene.
With much warmer than usual weather through the weekend, police say expect a lot more snow melt will move down the mountain, so the evacuation could remain in place for several days
