A woman in her early 20s died and two others were injured when a vehicle crashed into a hydro pole in Vaughan late Sunday night.
Police responded to the crash at about 11:30 p.m. on Dufferin Street just north of Major MacKenzie Drive.
Emergency crews pronounced one of the vehicle's passengers dead on scene, while the other female passenger was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Officials said the driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Initial reports suggest all three of the vehicle's female occupants are residents of either Richmond Hill or Aurora.
A York Region police reconstruction crew is trying to determine the cause of the crash.
