BRANTFORD, Ont. - A 24-year-old man from Brantford, Ont., faces several charges after a woman was allegedly assaulted and threatened with a knife in a dispute over money.
Police say a man had punched a woman in the eye and was holding a knife to her throat when friends of the woman arrived at the home.
The man fled but was arrested a short time later.
Thomas Richard William McCormick is charged with assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.
He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
