A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a 21-year-old Toronto suspect wanted for manslaughter after a woman went missing in June, police said.

Ying Chun (Annie) Li was last seen by her family on June 12 in Markham, in the Denison Street and Markham Road area. Li has not been in contact with her family since, police said, and has not returned home.

Officers said they believe Li is dead after their investigation, although they did not release details about how she may have died.

An arrest warrant for a suspect identified as Jiarui (Jerry) Tang was issued Tuesday in connection to Li’s disappearance, police said.

Investigators believe Tang frequently goes to Toronto’s Chinatown neighbourhood and that he is likely still within the GTA.

Police urge him to turn himself in and seek legal counsel immediately. They also said anyone who spots him should not approach him. Instead, they should dial 911 to report the sighting.
