Police have identified the man who was stabbed to death in Scarborough on Saturday afternoon.

Toronto paramedics say they responded to calls about the incident at approximately 3:20 p.m., in the area of Galloway Road and Lawrence Avenue East, after a man was found on the sidewalk suffering from a stab wound.

Police are identifying the victim as 56-year-old Bevis Larmond, of Toronto.

According to police, Larmond may have been riding a bicycle in the area before being stabbed.

Larmond was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition. He succumbed to his injuries late Saturday evening, police said.

Police have not released any suspect information.
